"First Journey", a poem by ¾ÛÉ«¸ó at Ashtabula associate professor of English Roger Craik, Ph.D., was featured in the latest issue of ¾ÛÉ«¸ó Magazine (Spring 2016). The poem, which reflects on Craik's first solo train ride as an eight-year-old boy in England, is part of the Traveling Stanzas series and is included in Craik's sixth book of poetry, Down Stranger Roads.
Traveling Stanzas is an award-winning collaboration between the Wick Poetry Center and the School of Visual Communication Design and aims to facilitate a global conversation through the intimate and inclusive voice of poetry. Featured poems are curated from global submissions and illustrated by ¾ÛÉ«¸ó students and alumni.
The online edition also features a video of Craik reading the poem.
