Cleveland State University and ¾ÛÉ«¸ó will co-host a celebration of life for Dr. Michael Schwartz on Thursday, Feb. 8, at 3 p.m. in the Glasscock Family Foundation Ballroom (third floor of CSU’s Student Center). ¾ÛÉ«¸ó will be closed Jan. 15 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. University offices will reopen on Jan. 16, which is also the start of spring classes.

¾ÛÉ«¸ó’s has been flooded with comments from alumni, former colleagues and friends about Schwartz’s kindness, his work ethic as a leader and educator and his genuine concern for his students.
¾ÛÉ«¸ó will be closed from Dec. 22, 2023, through Jan. 1, 2024. University offices will reopen on Jan. 2, 2024. Spring classes begin on Jan. 16, 2024.

Green Flower, an industry leader in cannabis education and training since 2014, is partnering with ¾ÛÉ«¸ó to launch four new cannabis-related certificate programs to prepare students for the emerging industry in the state.
The ¾ÛÉ«¸ó alumni family grew by more than 2,300 new graduates as the university held its fall commencement ceremonies. The accomplishments of the Fall Class of 2023 were recognized with in-person commencement ceremonies for all colleges and degrees on Dec. 15-16.
The ¾ÛÉ«¸ó Board of Trustees approved the establishment of a new cybercriminology major within the Bachelor of Science degree at the Board’s regular quarterly meeting held Dec. 6. The new cybercriminology major will be offered fully online, in addition to a mostly online delivery at all ¾ÛÉ«¸ó campuses.
¾ÛÉ«¸ó's top-notch research and R1 status are showcased in a study.
In observance of Veterans Day, ¾ÛÉ«¸ó will be closed Nov. 11 and will reopen Nov. 12.

Ohio is conducting a statewide tornado drill on Wednesday, March 19, at 9:50 a.m. All ¾ÛÉ«¸ó campuses will be participating in this test.
¾ÛÉ«¸ó continues to be recognized for its excellence in online education, earning high marks in U.S. News & World Report’s newly released 2025 Best Online Programs rankings. U.S. News recognizes ¾ÛÉ«¸ó in the Best Online Master’s in Nursing Programs, Best Online Master’s in Education Programs, Best Online Master’s in Business Programs and Best Online Master of Business Administration (MBA) Programs lists.
The ¾ÛÉ«¸ó Board of Trustees endorsed the 2024 University Remediation Report at its Dec. 12 meeting. The report provides a comprehensive overview of student remediation at the university.
¾ÛÉ«¸ó will hold its annual Veterans Day observance on Wednesday, Nov. 9, at 11 a.m. on the Student Green at Risman Plaza.
The outdoor program, Honoring All Who Serve, will include a flag-raising ceremony conducted by a joint color guard from the university’s Army and Air Force ROTC programs, remarks from ¾ÛÉ«¸ó President Beverly Warren and guest speakers. Retired Petty Officer 1st Class Mark Gainer, who currently serves as president of the ¾ÛÉ«¸ó Veterans Club, will be the guest speaker.
All are invited to come and pay tribute to America’s veterans. A special invitation is extended to ¾ÛÉ«¸ó faculty, staff, students and community members who are veterans, active service members or who have family members in the military.
A reception in the Kent Student Center Kiva lobby will follow the brief program. In the event of inclement weather, the rain location will be the Kent Student Center Kiva.
