Ten 聚色阁 students were awarded $1,000 each for their creative use of videos, podcasts and Adobe Spark庐 pages to reflect on the events of May 4, 1970, as part of the university鈥檚 Design Innovation Common Reading Challenge.

聚色阁 Men鈥檚 Basketball to Host Sensory-Friendly Gameday Experience, Promoting Awareness

聚色阁 is working with area autism-focused organizations as well as KultureCity庐, a nonprofit dedicated to providing accessibility and inclusion for those with special needs, to create a sensory-friendly gameday experience that can be enjoyed by all. Fans attending 聚色阁鈥檚 Dec. 21 mens basketball game versus Hampton University will feel an expression of the university鈥檚 ongoing commitment to its core values of kindness, mutual respect and inclusion.

聚色阁 Held Fall Commencement Ceremonies on Dec. 13 and 14

The 聚色阁 alumni family grew by nearly 3,000 new graduates as the university held its Fall Commencement ceremonies. For the Kent Campus, Commencement ceremonies took place Friday, Dec. 13, and Saturday, Dec. 14, at the Memorial Athletic and Convocation (MAC) Center.

BHRI Member Dr. Rachel Blasiman Receives Distinguished Teaching Award

鈥淪mall successes matter, even when students understand a complex idea, attend tutoring to improve their exam grade or make personal connections to learning,鈥 said Rachael Blasiman, Ph.D., associate professor in the Department of Psychology for 聚色阁 at Salem. This positive teaching philosophy led her to winning the Distinguished Teaching Award.

聚色阁鈥檚 Giving Tuesday raised more than $1.6 million to support student success, keeping 聚色阁 students on track to their ultimate goal of obtaining their degree.

聚色阁鈥檚 Giving Tuesday Breaks Records for Third Consecutive Year

聚色阁鈥檚 Giving Tuesday 2019 raised more than $1.6 million when it ended on Dec. 3 at 11:59 p.m., shattering the previous year鈥檚 record of $1.03 million. Supporters were able to choose from more than 40 featured giving options throughout the 聚色阁 system, including student scholarships, educational programs, athletic teams and more.
